Job applications are accepted throughout the year and kept on file for consideration. Previous employees in good standing are given priority when job openings occur. The majority of the hiring occurs prior to each fishery in January, May and June. The Human Resources Department will contact applicants and schedule interviews when appropriate positions become available.

Qualifications

Making a living at sea requires a special kind of person. This is a physically, mentally and emotionally demanding work place. Working on board a processing vessel can be difficult and dangerous. Our employees must deal with conditions such as long working hours, isolation from family and friends, cramped living conditions and bad weather.

Crew are expected to be physically fit, be capable of heavy lifting and intense physical labor. Work conditions are wet, cold and monotonous. The job requires physical endurance, repetitive lifting, agility, prolong periods of standing, teamwork and self discipline. The factory operates continually; production personnel may work shifts of 8-16 hours per day, seven days a week. You must be able to follow orders and work as a team.

Some positions do not require any US Coast Guard Credentials, some require entry level US Coast Guard Credentials and some require full US Coast Guard Licenses. Following are many of the positions in which crewmembers are employed:

All qualified applicants go through a two step hiring process.

Step #1 - Application Process

Step #2 - Post Offer (employment is contingent on passing the following)

  • Complete Health Questionnaire
  • Submit to Pre-Employment Drug Test
  • Provide information to complete a criminal background check
  • Provide identification and documentation of your eligibility to work in the United States
